Target Audience

US-based junior faculty, fellows, and postdoctoral researchers (MDs, DOs, and PhDs) who are pursuing a career in academic research by conducting basic science, laboratory translational, and/or clinical research using immuno-oncology strategies directed at solid tumor or hematologic malignancies.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify novel areas of immuno-oncology research that offer clinical advances in treatment.
  2. Discuss immuno-oncology research study designs and methods that may improve on current approaches.
  3. Examine strengths and weaknesses of the research presented and receive constructive feedback to assist in improvement of future research activities.
  4. Appraise the impact of scholarly activity and clinical research on continuing professional development.
  5. Improve public speaking and presentation skills to effectively present scientific and clinical research findings to the larger medical and scientific community.
  6. Explore “what it takes” to become a clinical research investigator in medical oncology by discussing career challenges such as grant writing, research funding, academic appointments, etc. with leading expert investigators in immuno-oncology.

(CEC) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
